Amateur Radio Yaesu FT-710 USB Driver for Windows Step-by-step

Yaesu FT-710 USB Driver for Windows 10

how to install the USB driver, I'm hoping someone can help. My issues are that the download from Yaesu doesn't include a '.exe' file so I can't start the download process.

Also, I'm not sure of the total process from end to end (install driver, plug in USB to computer and radio...) - the instructions from Yaesu seem to be for Windows8...

Step-by-step

You download the file. Then, for ease, make a new folder on your desktop called, "710" or "Fred" or anything you want. Either move the downloaded file to this new folder or extract all the files into the new folder. There will be instructions giving you the directions, but here is a copy/paste of the basics.

INSTALLING
----------
The VCP driver is automatically installed by Windows Update for CP210x with
alternate PID values of 0xEA63, 0xEA7A, and 0xEA7B. These are not default
values.

Otherwise, unzip the .zip file and you will have a directory containing the
driver installer files.

### Prompted install ###

If Windows prompts you to install a driver for a CP210x device
(for example, if you plug a CP210x into your computer):

1. Use the dialog to browse for the driver location
2. Locate the driver folder (that you previously unzipped)
3. Follow the instructions

### Manual install ###

1. Using Windows File Explorer, locate the driver folder
(that you previously unzipped)
2. Right click on the silabser.inf file and select Install
3. Follow the instructions

There are more instructions here than you'll need. I think that when you click on the Setup information it takes it from there. Then, when you look at your device manager they will be there.

OK, if you look and see the USB 5 on the Vara audio in and out, that only means the USB port on the computer itself that the cable is plugged in to. Not the virtual comm ports.

switched RPTT Select of Off.  Changed it to RTS.
